We are thrilled to announce that former Ů student Özge Üçoluk participated in the World Brand Design Society, a professional community that recognises and honours creatives and creative businesses in corporate and consumer brand design. Özge’s project earned her the bronze award for the 2023/24 edition.
Özge chose to , an emblem of Turkish drinking culture, through a contemporary redesign of its bottles. These new designs, tailored for traditional Turkish taverns, seamlessly blend tradition with modernity. The minimalist typographic logo, exemplified by the brand name Şair(h)ane, adds a whimsical and memorable flair. Accompanied by black and white photographs that evoke nostalgia, the back label tells the complete story of the beverage. Through this project, Özge masterfully bridges the world of Raki with the captivating realm of Turkish poetry.

Şair(h)ane was presented as the final thesis of the Ů Master’s programme in Visual Brand Design.
Another project of her, specifically undertaken for during a workshop held at Ů, also received accolades. In this case, the goal was to make it easier to offer healthy pre-made lunches at home, emphasising the handmade quality, and paying attention to packaging that reflects the brand’s commitment to sustainability, supporting local communities, and valuing Italian craftsmanship.
